My Go-to Green Juice

I’ve Been Juicing for Years

It is the best way to start your day. It will give you great energy, kickstart your digestion, tastes delicious, is so good for your immune system and starts your day with a super nutrition. Keep reading for my favorite combos!

I’ve been doing the same combo for years because it tastes delicious. I then add in different things depending on what is in my fridge - this is also a great way to clean it out! It is important to drink juice on an empty stomach and to wait about 30 minutes before eating food so your body can digest and absorb all of the nutrients. Otherwise, it will ferment in your stomach and not make you feel great. I always drink this in the morning before my breakfast. I love my Breville Juicer. It works great and is easy to clean (you can even put in the dishwasher!) The more you juice the faster you will get at it and soon enough this will take less than 5 minutes in your morning, I promise!

The base:

Add ins for flavor and nutrition:

  • Dandelion greens (great for detoxification)

  • Tumeric which is great for your immune system and is very anti inflammatory

  • Cilantro for added flavor and as well as being very detoxifying

  • Parsley for added flavor and nutrition

Tips:

  • Personally, I find kale to be very hard on my digestive system so I don’t juice it.

  • If you do want to juice spinach, buy it whole and cut off the roots then juice the leaves/stems - you’ll get much more bang for your buck than just the loose leaves found in boxed spinach. Spinach is fine on my stomach but I usually skip it and save it for cooking instead.

  • For leafy greens, I do them first and roll them in a ball so they’re “firmer” when you put them down the shoot. I find this helps them get macerated better and you waste less in the bin. I finish off with the citrus to help it wipe out any residual greens in the cracks.

I juice for 2 days at a time to save myself time and store the extra in an air tight container. There are so many benefits to juicing, I hope you can find room in your routine for this too!

xx, Ashley
